Our commitment to you

CYFM and the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Mary are committed to the development of the faith life & ministerial experiences of our volunteers. We provide meaningful ministry experiences & on-going skill development so that our volunteers can obtain meaningful jobs in the future. We engage our volunteers’ spiritual lives as foundational support for their on-going spiritual growth.

CYFM offers excellent training, professional support, and direct supervision for youth ministry.

Volunteers gain many experiences to prepare them for a variety of future ministries and careers.

Volunteers’ spiritual growth encouraged through retreats, regular communal prayer, & area spiritual directors. Volunteers also participate in personal and staff retreats at the beginning, middle, and end of year.

Volunteers find support from many different parts of the CYFM community: families involved at CYFM, the Capuchins of the NY/NE province (170 priests and brothers), the Cap Corps community of past and present volunteers, and many other youth ministers, priests, and lay people in the local community.

Host families are available to help volunteers feel at home in the Hudson Valley area. Often volunteers attend family events like apple picking, haunted houses, holiday gatherings, & sometimes monthly meals.

Volunteers are financially supported with a generous monthly stipend & food budget, housing, major medical insurance, and an education grant comparable to the Americorps Education award.
